With milestones of 1,000,000 students and 5,000 educators impacted, our programs continued to excel and fulfill our mission to empower youth through education. We reached these milestones through a growing network of partners, donors, educators, parents, students, alumni and our communities who share our core belief that education is the best way to empower students to pursue their passions. Together we are doing more to expand educational opportunities to more youth around the world. In 2019 we achieved MORE TOGETHER. We work together with educators, parents and community partners to empower underrepresented students to pursue their passions through education. Youth are at the heart of all that we do at TGR Foundation. Our year-round STEM and college-access programs equip students with the critical skills needed to succeed in higher education and the future workforce. Our TGR Learning Labs, digital platform, TGR EDU: Explore and Earl Woods Scholar Program guide and support students, fueling their success while advancing equity and inclusion for all. created a High School Girls Golf Camp to support more low-income female students in earning college golf scholarships. In its inaugural year, 35 students from Southern California participated. In our golf program overall, 40% of participants are female. reached 6,754 unduplicated students who participated in our in-person education programs at TGR Learning Labs across the country. were prepared for higher education processes through the College Bound Academy program. in high school and college were supported through the Earl Woods Scholar Program . college-access workshops held for underrepresented high school students. new online STEM and college-access assets added to TGR EDU: Explore. impacted 367,000 students through our digital learning platform, TGR EDU: Explore. * *Number represents cumulative reach since the platform’s launch in 2017. impacted 44,850 elementary, middle and high school youth through educator professional learning program. We work together with educators to expand our impact as teachers who participate in our programs reach hundreds of students each year. Through TGR EDU: Create , we offer professional learning opportunities including multi-day STEM Studio workshops and training programs across the U.S. and internationally. Educators are provided with proven strategies and activities to engage their classes in STEM and interdisciplinary learning experiences. Two-thirds of the educators who attended our seven STEM Studio sessions in 2019 work at Title I schools across the U.S., serving a high proportion of children growing up in poverty. These teachers support a new trajectory for students, families and communities. doubled the number of U.S. locations hosting in-person professional learning sessions by adding educator cohorts in Pennsylvania and New Mexico. reached 1,495 educators with training in STEM disciplines and college access. * *Number represents cumulative reach since 2017. joined educators from 50+ countries at the 29th annual Central and Eastern European Schools Association conference in Warsaw, Poland and also attended the Association of International Schools in Africa conference in Cape Town, South Africa. Educators leave the training with confidence to engage students in STEM, an action plan to implement what they’ve learned, an ongoing support system and enhanced digital STEM resources accessible anywhere in the world.
